Making History

I'm sitting here watching a little bit of the inauguration celebrations and I have come to realize that I have never been so scared of the future in my life. I understand that it really is a historic day for our country, but I feel like Americans picked the wrong time to make history. The future is looking bleak and Americans are not focusing on what is important. Instead, they are worshipping a man because he can deliver a nice speech and has the right color of skin. So much money was spent on this inauguration that could have been spent more constructively. For example, all the money and man power they had in security should have been used on our borders, protecting us from terrorism and drugs. But today, America showed me that one man was more important to them. Not more important because of his intelligence and experience, but important to them because his skin is not white.
Right now, all I know, is that I need to put my faith in Heavenly Father and pray that this is his will. I have faith that whatever happens, it is happening for a reason. I just pray that my family will be safe. I know that hard times are coming, but if we all have faith, we will get through these next four years.

Welcome 2009

Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Ruddell's House
Hunter and Mommy

Hunter's New Dump Truck

I cannot believe that it's already 2009! Hunter is going to be 1 year old soon! How can this be? Well, we have had a wonderful 3 week vacation and it's coming to a close. I've gotten very used to being with Hunter all day long. I'm going to be extremely sad to take him back to the babysitter everyday. I would give anything to stay home with my baby all day! But I guess that I should be thankful that I get to take so many long vacations. That's the 1 benefit of being a teacher.

Over the break we had a lot of fun. Christmas was so much fun! Hunter was very spoiled. Santa was very good to him. We got to spend some time up in Springerville in the snow. We also got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Ruddell out on their land. We got to take a family vacation to Las Vegas with Grandma and Grandpa Rogers. We had a wonderful time.

Christmas Tree

We went up to Springerville this past week so that we could get a Christmas tree. Up on the mountain where we went it was snowy white and I'm sure that if Hunter hadn't been with us, Keith surely would have managed to get us stuck. But, he was very careful not to drive anywhere where other vehicles have not gone. The snow was gorgeous! Sometimes I miss it. I miss being able to take a drive up the mountain any time I want. There are so many places to go! There's always something to do and it doesn't cost any money. But then I just look at the crazy people that live up there and I thank my Heavenly Father that we are not in that mess. There is so much drama and I think that wind in Springerville drives people mad. :)

Anyway, we did get out Christmas tree and we had a wonderful time looking for it and cutting it down. Although it is not perfect, like a fake one or farm grown tree would be, it is beautiful. People aren't perfect so why do we always expect a Christmas tree to be? I love our tree!

My Birthday

Today is my 26th birthday. My first birthday with Hunter Buggy and it was great! My dear husband got me a Capo for my guitar and a tuner to help me tune the guitar. I also got the book "Twilight." We went out to eat at Serrano's and Hunter ate crackers and beans. He was really excited. Anway, I had a really great day! But now I'm tired and need to get to bed.

Things we all love....

We've been on a little vacation for a few days visiting all of the family. It's been so wonderful. We went to Morenci for a few days to see Grandma and Grandpa Rogers. Now we are up in Springerville. We were hoping it would snow and it did a little bit but not enough. :) We got a Christmas tree and it's going to be beautiful when we get home and get it decorated.

We've been staying at Mimi and Papa's house. I love it here. I'm so incedibly thankful that Hunter gets to spend time with Mimi and Papa just like I did when I was little. Mimi and Papa have this little tiny chair that all of us grandkids used to play with when we were little. It is probably more than 30 years old. Hunter was playing with it and I took some pictures. I'm so thankful that Hunter gets to experience the same things I did. We all loved that little chair!

Thanksgiving Day

I really love the holidays! I just cooked my very first Thanksgiving dinner for my family! There was so much food, I still feel like i'm going to explode. It was Hunter's first Thanksgiving dinner and he got to eat mashed potatoes, stuffing, and noodles. It was the cutest thing i've ever seen. Everytime Keith would give him a bite, he would swallow and then scream for more. I can't believe he is big enough to eat Thanksgiving dinner. My, how the time flies!
My mom and dad came over for dinner and my mom helped me cook and clean up, which was very much appreciated! Making dinner for Thanksgiving is hard work that I realize now, I took for granted. I really wish that I would have spent more time helping my mom and Mimi cook Thanksgiving, when I was younger. I never realized how hard they worked all those years. Anyway, I'm just thankful that I was fortunate enough to spend this day with my family and be able to put such a wonderful dinner on the table.

A little bit late

I started this blog almost a month ago and then realized that I have only posted to it one time. Man! Things are crazy around here. Keith and I hardly have time to breathe. We work until 4 and most of the time it's later than that. Then by the time we get home and make dinner, it's time for Hunter to go to bed. I'm just glad we have long breaks during the school year.
Keith has been coaching football for the 7th and 8th graders at Copper Basin. He is really having a good time. They had their first game yesterday and won. He was really proud of his team. Keith also has class on Tuesday nights, so he is not home until late. He's a very busy guy these days!
Hunter is just growing up so fast it's flashing right before my eyes! He is crawling all over the place and getting into trouble already! He always races to all the things he's not supposed to play with and then looks at me and laughs! Do all babies do this??? I can't help but laugh, but dang, I hope that is just a stage! LOL! He is definitely a little turkey. Just check out the picture and you can tell.
Well, it's getting late and I have dishes to do! Story of my life, but I love it! :)
